But, How much percentage of them are really doing something useful in that time period?

Only 2-3%.

Why?

Because No one wants to learn new things and skills from the internet. They do not want to work hard. But everyone wants to become rich by surfing the internet!

Tell me a successful person who spent time on Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, etc. and became a millionaire. Well, there are none, except their creators.

At least they did something in their lives. The thing that you are holding in your palms right now is filled with the latest technologies and interesting things that you should check out. 

But, Instead of extracting something useful from the Internet, you are wasting your time on Social Media by chatting with a person you don't even know.

The Problem is that deep inside you, You also understand that Social Media is a big time waster. But, at the same time, you don't know how to fix this issue. Don't Worry, let us look at the solution.

THE FIX:


See, I am not saying that Social Media is bad. But, it should be used in a limit. Too Much of social media influence can have negative effects on you. Instead of spending time on learning new skills, you are spending time to update your WhatsApp profile picture.

Well, just use it in a limit. Now, you will have to take control over that. You will have to decide on how much duration will you use Social Media.

There was a time period where people played games like Candy Crush, Temple Run, and the classic Subway Surfers!

But, due to the changing time, people's taste has also changed. As a result, realistic games like PUBG and Fortnite has made their mark on the gaming industry.

Well, playing games like PUBG is fun. But, it can kill your time.

THE FIX:


Make a Schedule for your entertainment time. Like, after doing all your work and tasks, you can then play games for relaxation. But keep in mind that you should not play these types of games for more than 1 Hr. because then it can become an addiction.

Video Games are a common time wasters that you should eliminate from your lifestyle if you want to make full use of the 24 Hrs. provided to you.

But, for now, just understand that if you spend most of your time in your sleep and watching great dreams. You are not going to make your dreams reality.

After you become successful you will have sufficient time to sleep. But for now, you will need to compromise your sleep if you want to increase your productivity and you can save yourself from wasting time.

Well, it did happen to me multiple times. But, now I have adapted a Prioritizing stratigies.

THE FIX:


Prioritizing means to keep your most important tasks at the top of your to-do list. This means that no matter what happens, you will have to finish that task on that particular day.

By prioritizing, you make things more simple and you feel relaxed because now you know that you have to do the following things that are mentioned in your TO DO LIST.


#8: Procrastination:


The biggest time waster is your mind!

Every time when you are meant to do something, you postpone it to the next day.

For Eg: Throughout the day you keep saying to yourself that, "Well, I have a lot of time to complete this work. Let's do this tomorrow."

And the sad part is?

Tomorrow never comes, and if it does come in your life, then it's already too late.

Procrastination is something that every human being is suffering from. Either directly or indirectly but everyone has been affected by their subconscious mind.

THE FIX:


Most of the times we procrastinate because we don't like what we are doing. For Eg; You would never postpone a weekend with your friends. Will You?

So, first of all, you will need to understand that you will need to love what you are doing.

  • Maybe give yourself a reward every 15-30 Minutes. It can be a coffee break or a Social Media Break.

Have you ever wondered why we don't procrastinate when we are so close to the deadline?

  • It is because you know that you know that if you will postpone it now, then maybe you will lose your job or you will get a tight scold from your teacher.

So, Whenever you are given a task,  try to complete the work in small daily deadlines.

You will have to understand that this age is a modern age. You have better chances to grow and become successful. The people who started a business almost 50 Years ago were not able to get the resources and information that they need.

But, even though they built big business empires.

Now, this modern age you have all the resources that you need right at your fingertips. Isn't it great?


THE FIX:


Rather than spending time watching funny cat videos, look for topics like, How to Earn Money Online or How to become successful in life.

And believe me, once you search these kinds of phrases, the content that you are going to get would be mind-blowing!

So, Don't waste any more time and start watching motivational videos, read books, listen to self-improvement podcasts, etc.


#11: Taking Photos For Instagram:


Now You would ask, " What did Instagram do to you? Why you hate it so much?"

My answer is that I do not hate it.

But, what I hate is that people keep wasting their time on Social Media and most of the times, the Social Media that they use is Instagram.

I have seen many people take their photos for almost 4-5 Hrs. until they get the perfect picture. After wasting this much of crucial time, they keep saying to themselves that "I am a Perfectionist."

Few of my friends even take the picture of the food that they are eating and they upload it on various Social Media platforms including SnapChat!


THE FIX:


Taking photos is not bad. In fact, they are the best way to capture memories. But, here's the deal,

Many people including you waste hours and hours just for the sake of a perfect picture. If you will utilize this time then you can do something productive.

Maybe complete the pending assignment or analyze your life right now and then write down your goals in a Journal.

This means that your 4-5 years are being wasted either in a hospital or at home with a high fever.

And most of the diseases are caused because Our stomach is not healthy. There is a famous saying that if you are successful in keeping your stomach healthy, then you can be assured that there will be no sign of illness around you.


THE FIX:


Today people are more comfortable with eating junk foods rather than eating the food that has been prepared at home.

You know that eating junk food is not at all healthy for your body. You can consume it once in a month, but every week or every day is a bit too much.

Try to control your diet and then you can stay focused on your job and studies.

There are many instances where you are not able to complete a task because of your illness and your focus is just lost somewhere.

Regain this focus for fasting every week, Sunday's are the best because most of the time you would be chilling out or you would be sleeping.


#13: Living In Past:


I bet you waste your time because of this which I am going to share with you in a second.

You keep thinking about -" What other's would think when I will complete this task. Everyone will hail me. Someone in the corner would be shouting my name and everyone would clap for me."

The sad reality?

You are just wasting your time thinking about the stuff that is not going to happen. Or if they are going to happen, then congratulations, because maybe you would have done something great because of which people are applauding you in real.

Just stop thinking about these kinds of heroic acts and concentrate on your work. One thing that I would suggest you do is Meditation.

By doing Meditation, you train yourself to get total control over your thoughts and then whenever you will start procrastinating and will be wasting the time on useless things, you can again sit back on your work desk and start something new and innovative for yourself.

So, Try out meditation and Visualization because it is also one of the Habits of Successful People. 

#15: Dilemma:

Many times when we want to do something, our mind often keeps you in a situation where you are unable to decide which task is more important for you.

For Eg: If you are given a chance to spent time with your family or your friends, whom would you chose and why?

Some people would say family and some would say, friends. But in many cases, you are unable to decide between the two. And you spent your time deciding between the two tasks.

What happens then?

Well, you don't choose anyone and just leave the matter there.

So, What's the result?

You have wasted most of your time thinking about the situation and then you have got no time for action.

This is a condition of Poor Decision Making. Decision making is something that is very useful in every field. A person who has a strong decision-making ability can be termed as a leader.

Now, that you know that it's your poor decisionmaking abilities, you should work on it.

Because life will place you in various situations like these but they would be tougher than this one. In that condition as well, you should train yourself to decide faster and accurate so that you would not waste your time and instead you would utilize it to boost productivity.

It is Similar to the 3rd common time waster that I discussed. Nowadays many teenagers keep wasting their time by hanging out with their friends at various cafes and restaurants.

Instead of wasting your time, you should reinvest it in doing those tasks that would benefit you in the future.

On average, a person spends 25-30 Years at work. That means that more than 75% of your life is spent in your office. There is not time that you are giving to yourself.

See, Working hard is good, but Working for all your life will only impact on your relations, your mental and physical health.

So, give yourself some rest. Whenever you feel a bit low motivated, Just think that your mind needs rest. Go on a vacation for a week and relax for some time.


THE FIX:


Do not waste Your Time on doing work all day long. Give time to your family, friends, kids, etc. And most importantly, Give Time to Yourself.
